God is good! I say that for two reasons. The first is that my son Ryan was involved in a car accident yesterday. He had someone start to turn in front of him and had to swerve to miss them. When he swerved back into the right lane, the front right tire hit the dirt shoulder and made the car slide off the road. He hit a speed limit sign and the car went airborn and flipped over - landing flat on the roof. The roof of the car was smashed down and Ryan had to crawl out a window to get out. He had his seatbelt on and was pretty shook up. We had him taken by ambulance to the hospital. They checked him out and said he was okay.....but that he would be sore the next day.
Well, today is the next day and Ryan was perfectly fine today as well. No pain or soreness. I have pictures that I will post as soon as I have them, but when you see them you will know that God was definitely protecting him.
The second reason I say God is good, is because in the midst of all of the storms we are facing, I have felt an unspeakable peace. I cannot shake the feeling that God is our provider and our strength. I know, that I know, that I know...that he will supply every need we have. It may be difficult to see from where I am now, but I imagine it was pretty hard for David, Abraham, Moses, the Disciples, etc. Psalm 37:25 says, "I was young and now am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread."
I have been a Christ-follower for many years now. I occasionally look back at where God has brought me from and I can see so many times when God made a way, where I could see no way. Times when He provided, even though I had no way to provide myself. Am I disappointed that my car is folded, spindled and mutilated? Yes. But I am confident of this.....NOTHING happens outside the plan and purpose of God - where my life is concerned. So with that being said, I will look forward to a future post in which I can tell of God's continual, amazing love and providence.
