God's Timing Is Incredible

Today at work, I dispatched police to look for a missing 8 year old boy who apparently never got on the bus for school. Don't worry, they found him next door with the neighbor boy. They were both trying to play hookie so they could stay home and play in the snow.
Anyway, the cool thing about this incident is that the boy's mom lived next to us when Carol & I lived in South Bend. She was just a young child of about 7 at that time. Now she's 22! Well, we had a good friendship with her mom and her, and shared the gospel with them a few times. One day they told us they were moving away to Michigan. It was too far for us to go see them and we said our goodbyes. Years went by and we all lost touch, but we always had them on our minds.
Well, today I noticed the name on the dispatch and called the young boy's mom after we had found him. She didn't recognize me at first, but when I mentioned my wife's name, it clicked and she remembered us both. She asked about our kids and told us she had her 8 year old son and a 2 month old daughter. Carol called her later, and through the course of their conversation she told Carol that she would like to get together and catch up. So we are inviting her and her kids over for dinner.
It always amazes me how you want to talk to someone, or do something specific, according to your own timetable, but God's timing is different. I believe that our finding her was meant, 'for such a time as this,' and I'm looking forward to seeing this young lady and hearing her stories of life (I do know that there are some pretty bad ones in there too). Thanks Jesus for bringing Angel back into our lives.
