Goal Update

Back on January 5th, I posted some goals that I had set. This is the current standings of those goals (so I can be accountable).

1. Spend an hour with God each day.
I have been pretty consistent with this one. I have had my share of days when I have been lazy and slouphed it off, but it's becoming easier and more intense with each successful day.

2. Spend more time with Carol & the kids.
Carol and I have a new arrangement. Each day I come home from work, I have to give her the first 20-30 minutes. Nothing else gets my attention but her. I have also spent more time hanging out and talking with Ryan & Rachel. We have learned some pretty cool stuff about each other. Ryan especially....he learned that his dad could actually play Guitar Hero 2 and do ok on the medium setting.

3. Lose 36 pounds.
I started at 234.5, then actually went up to 236.8 a couple days later. But I have been faithful at working out every day after work. I am up to 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and doing plenty of crunches and some lifting to stay toned. I'm currently weighing in at 230.2.

4. Read 25 books
I am currently behind on this goal. I am now approaching the end of book #3 (John Eldredge's - Wild At Heart).

5. Start a small group.
Still no movement on this one. I think it's gonna have to wait until springtime.

6. Read through the Bible again.
I am currently just finishing up Exodus and am well into Psalms. I switch back and forth between New Testament and Old Testament to keep it from getting dull (with all of the laws and so-and-so begats).

7. Get to a NASCAR race.
I am tentatively scheduled to go t0 the second NASCAR weekend at Michigan in August.

8. Do some creative writing/poetry projects.
I did a creative writing project which I have already posted. It's about making a move and was inspired by the series "Move" from Lifeline.

9. Pay debt down to just car & house.
Tonight Carol & I had our first class for Dave Ramsey's 'Financial Peace University.' We are both very excited and looking forward to walking through this with many other couples.

10. Blog more consistently.
Well, I have definitely been doing this more. Now if I can just gt some help in learning how to do a couple other neat things with this blog.
