This is my dad...Steve Prugh. The hospice people told my family that he had about a 2 week window before he would die. God had a different timetable. My dad went to be with Jesus last night at 9:08pm, with no regrets, no grudges and a deep understanding that 'to be abscent in the body, is to be present with God."
I will always have special memories of those final hours. I held his hand, told him I loved him too many times to count and sang him his favorite hymn (It Is Well With My Soul). I didn't say goodbye. Rather, I told him I'd see him in a little while. Later on....after all the tears subsided, my family sat together in the livingroom sharing stories of our favorite memories.
In the picture above, my son Ryan had been given the crown for being voted most popular by his choir. We took the picture with dad wearing it. It now serves as a reminder to me that my dad is in heaven wearing the crown that God has for him. I love him and will always miss him, but my family has a storehouse of memories and that will always keep him in our hearts.
To those who prayed for us and gave words of comfort & encouragement, I say thank you so much.
